06/30/2010 - Wimbledon, England (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The women's finalists will be determined here on Thursday, when world No. 1 Serena Williams meets Czech southpaw Petra Kvitova and 21st-seeded Vera Zvonareva takes on upstart Bulgarian Tsvetana Pironkova in semifinal action at Wimbledon 2010.
Williams is 1-0 lifetime against the 6-foot tall Kvitova, who succumbed to the powerful American in a second-rounder at this year's Australian Open.
The reigning champion Williams will appear in her seventh Wimbledon semifinal (5-1). The 28-year-old star captured her third Wimbledon title last year by beating her older sister Venus in the fourth all-Williams final here. The 12-time major champion is also the reigning Aussie Open titlist.
The 20-year-old Kvitova will appear in her first-ever Grand Slam semifinal. She was a first-round loser in her first two trips to Wimbledon in 2008 and last year.
In Thursday's other semi, Zvonareva will face Pironkova for the second time in their careers. The Bulgarian topped the former top-10 Russian in Zvonareva's native Moscow last season.
The 25-year-old Zvonareva will appear in her first-ever Wimbledon and second career Grand Slam semi. She played in the Aussie Open final four last year, but lost there to fellow Russian Dinara Safina.
The 22-year-old Pironkova, the 82nd-ranked player in the world, had never before advanced past the second round in a major tournament before her unprecedented run here. She shocked Venus in the quarterfinals here on Tuesday.
This marks the first time since 1999 that two unseeded players have reached the women's Wimbledon semis.
Thursday's winners will square off in the lucrative final on Saturday.

Chiefs' Treen Green out for Sunday's game
How long Trent Green will remain sidelined is unknown. Coach Herm Edwards said Monday he will miss a second straight start Sunday when the Chiefs host the San Francisco 49ers.
A two-time Pro Bowler, Green was going into a feet-first hook slide when he was knocked unconscious by a thunderous, head-snapping hit from Cincinnati's Robert Geathers.
Oddsmakers at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com currently have the Chiefs listed as 7-point favorites versus the 49ers.
The 49ers got beat by Philadelphia 38-24 as a 6.5-point underdog last week. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (42.5).
Alex Smith completed 27-of-46 passes for 293 yards with a touchdown. Michael Robinson rushed for 29 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five carries.
The Chiefs lost 9-6 to Denver last week as an 11-point underdog. The combined score was well UNDER the posted over/under total (38).

MySportsbook.com Posts Heisman Trophy Odds
With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best Heisman Trophy odds at 5-2.
Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season. Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.
This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy. A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.
Current betting odds Heisman trophy are:
