12/01/2008 - Kansas City, MO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Kansas City Royals have offered arbitration to second basemen Mark Grudzielanek.
The 38-year-old Grudzielanek has until the conclusion of Sunday to accept the offer. If he rejects the offer and signs with another team the Royals would receive compensation in next June's amateur draft.
Last season, Grudzielanek hit .299 with three homers and 24 RBI over 86 games, his third consecutive year with the Royals. During his career, he's batted .290 with 90 homers and 356 RBI while also playing for the Expos, Dodgers, Cubs and Cardinals.

Reportedly, he is in great shape and well ahead of schedule to return to form. Also, he could have some added motivation to put up big numbers this season with the Eagles using their first pick in the draft on McNabb’s future successor Kevin Kolb.

In any football or basketball game (the main sports that use point spreads) there are two teams playing against each other.
Those teams, though, are rarely exactly evenly matched – meaning that typically one team has a better chance than the other to win the game. If bettors were allowed to bet on who was simply going to win the game, smart ones would obviously bet on the better team (likely winning more than 50% of the time in the process).
If winning were that easy the Las Vegas and online sportsbooks would stop taking any bets! Mathematically considered, 24 for the favorite Pats minus 7 equals 17, which is less than the 20 the Eagles scored, so the underdog Eagles win the ATS result (or you could figure 20 plus 7 equals 27 for the Eagles, which is more than 24 for the Pats).
