Parker returns as Spurs top Grizzlies

Basketball Betting Lines

11/28/2008 - San Antonio, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Tony Parker had 15 points and seven assists in his first game back after missing nine tilts with a sprained ankle to lead the Spurs in a 109-98 victory over the Grizzlies.

Parker originally suffered the injury in the first quarter of a 99-83 loss to the Miami Heat on November 7. He drove to the hoop for a bucket and rolled his left ankle upon landing with 2:06 left in the quarter.

Roger Mason added 20 points and five helpers for the Spurs, who have won four in a row and seven of eight overall. George Hill and Michael Finley scored 12 points each for San Antonio, which has beaten Memphis eight straight times in Texas. Tim Duncan ended with 11 points and 12 boards.

O.J. Mayo had a game-high 32 points for Memphis, which has dropped five straight. Rudy Gay ended with 26 points and Mike Conley 13 in defeat.

The Spurs outscored the Grizzlies 7-2 to start the fourth, and San Antonio was up 80-72 with 9:32 left in the game.

Moments later, Gay had a three-point play and Mayo nailed a jumper to bring it to 82-79.

However, Manu Ginobili hit a three to spark a 14-4 Spurs run that effectively put the game out of reach. Duncan had six of the points on the surge and closed it out with a three-point play with 4:13 left to make it 96-83.

Memphis failed to get within eight points down the stretch.

San Antonio jumped out to a slight 17-16 lead after the first 12 minutes and flashed a 46-36 advantage at the break.

Marc Gasol and Mayo connected on baskets late in the third, and the Grizzlies trailed just 73-70 heading into the final frame.

Game Notes

Ginobili had 14 points...San Antonio trounced the Grizzlies, 94-81, on November 24 in Memphis and has won three straight and five of the last six meetings in the series...The Grizzlies fell to a miserable 1-8 on the road this season.

Will Ohio State continue to run the table in College Football betting odds?
MySportsbook.com favors Buckeyes, Fighting Irish and Golden Bears in this weekend's big games.

NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 21 - My Sportsbook NCAA football fans: things are beginning to get really interesting on college football's national stage. Following last weekend's "Separation Saturday", which included five teams ranked in the top 15 dropping games, the BCS Championship picture is beginning to take shape - with Ohio State leading the charge. And, according to odds makers at MySportsbook.com, the number-one-ranked Buckeyes will continue their winning ways this weekend.

Revenge will be the name of the game in Columbus this Saturday, as Ohio State looks to even the score following last season's loss to Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions. Although Penn State are listed as 16.5 point underdogs, they are 11-10 all-time versus the Buckeyes. Paterno and the Lions, however, will have to shut down Heisman Trophy favorite Troy Smith who has thrown for 769 yards and seven touchdowns this season.

Speaking of revenge, Notre Dame will be out for some against Michigan State, following last year's 44 - 41 overtime loss to the Spartans in South Bend. The thirteenth-ranked Irish, listed as a 3-point favorite, will also be looking to avenge last Saturday's thrashing from the Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans, meanwhile, have won seven of the last nine match-ups against Notre Dame and are coming off an impressive 38-23 victory over Pittsburgh.

Out west, 22nd-ranked Arizona State will be battling for their first victory over 21st-ranked California since 2000. Although the Golden Bears are listed as 7.5-point favorites, the Sun Devils are 3-0, lead the nation in sacks with 18 and possess the Pac-10's leading passer in sophomore quarterback Rudy Carpenter.

MySportsbook.com: NBA Championship Odds

With the playoffs about two months away, the top two teams in the Western Conference are the clear cut leaders to win the NBA Championship. The Dallas Mavericks have the best record in the NBA (44-9) and have been absolutely scorching since the second week of the season.  What makes the Mavs’ record more impressive is the fact that they dropped their first four games of the season.  Currently they have won 17 out of their last 18 and are MySportsbook.com’s favorite (2-1) to win it all.  Right behind the Mavs are the Pacific leading Phoenix Suns (39-13).  Last season, the Suns lost in the Conference Finals to non-other then the Mavericks four games to two.  Of course the Suns were without center Amare Stoudemire who has is averaging 19.9 PPG and 9.5 RPG since coming back from his knee injury.  Unlike the Mavs, the Suns have struggled a bit lately having lost their last three and four out of their last seven.  Of course the main reason for their three straight loses is due to the absence of two time MVP Steve Nash, who is out with a shoulder injury.  Heads-up, the Mavs have beaten the Suns in both of their meetings this season.

In the Eastern Conference, the Pistons (32-19) are the favorites to win it all at 6-1. The addition of Chris Webber seems to have been a good move for the Pistons.  Since coming over from the 76ers, Webber has averaged 13.1 PPG and 7.3 RPG and the Pistons are 11-4.  Even though the defending champion Heat are currently on the playoff making cusp, they are the Eastern Conference team that is getting the most action to win it all (9-1).  The fact that Shaquille O’Neal is back in the starting lineup after missing 39 games probably has something to do with this.  No doubt, Shaq makes a difference when in the lineup as their winning six out of their last seven would indicate.
