McNabb bounces back as Eagles tear apart Cardinals

Football Betting Lines

11/27/2008 - Philadelphia, PA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Brian Westbrook scored four touchdowns -- two on the ground and two through the air -- and Donovan McNabb threw four touchdown passes as Philadelphia thumped the Arizona Cardinals, 48-20, as the Eagles played host on Thanksgiving for the first time since 1940.

Westbrook set a franchise record with the scoring barrage after having been labeled questionable with nagging ankle and knee ailments prior to Thursday. The Villanova product rushed for 110 yards on 22 carries and hauled in three passes for 20 yards.

The recently much maligned McNabb was crisp in hitting on 27-of-39 pass attempts for 260 yards without an interception for the Eagles (6-5-1), who successfully staved off -- at least for one more week -- a brewing storm of turmoil that has built momentum for several weeks as the club's poor play resulted in an 0-2-1 showing in its last three games.

Two weeks ago, a 13-13 tie against one-win Cincinnati was followed by six days of conversation about McNabb and his ignorance toward the NFL's overtime rules.

Then this past Sunday, McNabb played poorly in the first half at Baltimore, and was surprisingly benched at halftime of a 10-7 game in favor of second- year-pro Kevin Kolb.

Kolb was no better in what would become an eventual 36-7 loss, sparking debate about head coach Andy Reid's decision and the future of the team's quarterback spot for the rest of this year and beyond.

Kolb made an appearance late in the game but, to the fans delight, it was due to a handy fourth-quarter lead. A stingy defense also contributed to the lopsided affair with three interceptions and two forced fumbles.

The Eagles, who travel to New York for a divisional bout with the Giants next Sunday, are still in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs as they remain in last place in a crowded NFC East despite the win.

Kurt Warner struggled early and often, throwing two of his three interceptions on the first two offensive series before righting the ship with three TD passes on 21-of-39 attempts for 235 yards.

Larry Fitzgerald caught two TDs and Steve Breaston hauled in the other while the ground game managed just 25 yards for Arizona (7-5), which failed in its second attempt to wrap up the club's first division title since 1975, having also dropped last Sunday's battle with the NFC East-leading New York Giants, 37-29.

The Cardinals have made the postseason just once since the organization shifted its base of operation to the southwest in 1988 and have never topped the NFC West in its six previous years of existence. However, Arizona hosts a 2-9 St. Louis Rams squad next Sunday and still holds a healthy lead in the division with San Francisco (3-8) a distant second.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.

Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.

Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.

Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com.
